Crypto.com is one of the largest digital-asset ecosystems, offering users a wide toolset: from a cryptocurrency exchange and wallet to credit services and a proprietary Visa card with cashback. The platform aims to bridge traditional finance and decentralized technologies, delivering convenient and secure access to crypto for millions of users worldwide.

Founded in 2016 in Hong Kong, the company is now headquartered in Singapore and supervised by several financial authorities, including the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), ASIC (Australia), the FCA (United Kingdom), and CySEC (Cyprus). Crypto.com actively promotes mass crypto adoption, investing in security, mobile solutions, and UX. Today, the platform serves over 100 million customers globally.

Advantages of the Platform

The strengths of Crypto.com lie in a combination of broad functionality, high security standards, and deep fiat integration. Highlights include:

  • Wide asset selection: over 90 cryptocurrencies are available to trade in the U.S., and 350+ for users in other regions. Supported assets include Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, Cardano, Avalanche, Polygon, and dozens of DeFi and NFT tokens.
  • Crypto.com Visa Card: one of the most popular in the industry. Spend crypto directly and earn up to 5% cashback in CRO (previously up to 8%). Rewards depend on your CRO staking tier.
  • Earnings on crypto deposits: users can earn interest on holdings — about 5–6% APY on CRO and 4–5% APY on stablecoins (USDC, USDT), per updated Earn rates (2025).
  • Tax support: built-in tools to calculate taxable events and integrations with TaxBit for U.S. and EU residents remain available.
  • Mobile app: among the most capable on the market — trading, wallet, swap, card management, NFT marketplace, and Earn in one place (major redesign in version 7.0 in 2025).
  • Fiat support: 30+ national currencies, including USD, EUR, GBP, PLN, AUD, CAD, and SGD. Top-ups via SEPA, SWIFT, or Visa/Mastercard with zero extra fees in several regions.
  • Ongoing promos and bonuses: new users can receive up to $25 in CRO and reduced trading fees for the first 90 days — valid through 2025.

Platform Drawbacks

  • Higher fees for low-volume traders without CRO staking. Preferential rates still require staking a certain CRO amount.
  • Slower customer support during periods of heavy demand persists despite improvements in 2025.
  • Stricter KYC/AML: tightened in line with new EU regulations (2025), including mandatory verification for all Earn functions and Visa cards.
  • Regional limitations: in the U.S., some features (including Earn) are not available in all states; in Europe, the Visa card is issued via a licensed E-Money Institution in Lithuania.
  • Dependence on CRO: discounts and enhanced rewards remain tied to CRO price, which can be volatile.

Security

Crypto.com maintains a reputation as one of the most secure exchanges. The company continues to hold ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI:DSS certifications and obtained ISO 27701 (privacy) in 2024. Over 95% of client funds are kept in cold storage, and the insurance program has expanded to $1 billion.

  • 2FA and hardware-token support (e.g., YubiKey) for withdrawals.
  • Address whitelisting and mandatory email confirmations when adding new addresses.
  • Anti-phishing & encryption enhancements under the Crypto Trust Framework.
  • Cold storage: 95% of assets held offline with multi-layer authentication.
  • Insurance: a $1B policy (previously $750M) covering theft, hacks, and operator error.

Crypto.com Visa Card

The Visa card program remains relevant in 2026 and operates in Europe, the U.K., the U.S., Singapore, and Australia. Cashback and perks were revised in 2024 but still offer tangible value for active users.

  • Cashback: 1–5% depending on your CRO staking tier (top tiers in Asia up to 6%).
  • Perks: Spotify and Netflix benefits are retained for Royal Indigo and above; Expedia and Airbnb are temporarily unavailable in the EU (since 2024).
  • No annual fee: card maintenance remains free.
  • Top-ups: via the Crypto.com app with instant conversion to fiat or CRO.

Additional Products & Features

  • Crypto Earn: rates revised in 2024 — typically 3–6% APY depending on asset and CRO staking.
  • Crypto Credit: available in key regions, LTV up to 50%, interest rates reduced to ~8% APR.
  • DeFi Wallet: supports Ethereum, Polygon, Cronos, plus the newer Arbitrum and Base networks.
  • NFT Marketplace: re-organized in 2025 inside the Crypto.com App with ETH and CRO-NFT support.
  • CRO Token: powers Cronos Chain and Cronos ZK — a next-gen ZK-based chain launched in 2025.

Conclusion

Crypto.com is one of the most comprehensive and tech-forward crypto ecosystems today. The exchange blends strong functionality, transparency, and innovation. It fits both newcomers and experienced traders thanks to a broad range of tools — from the mobile app to DeFi solutions and the Visa card.

That said, to unlock maximum value, you’ll likely want to stake CRO and complete full verification. Overall, Crypto.com demonstrates high reliability, security, and compliance with international standards, making it a top choice for long-term use.

FAQ — Questions & Answers

Should a beginner start with Crypto.com?

Answer: Yes. Crypto.com remains one of the best platforms to start in 2026. The interface is simple, the app is stable and localized into many languages. Keep in mind that trading fees are higher without CRO staking. It’s best to start small, test the features, and then enable Earn or get a Visa card for cashback if desired.

How safe is it to keep funds on Crypto.com?

Answer: As of 2026, Crypto.com ranks among the top three most secure centralized platforms. Over 95% of client funds are in cold wallets, with 2FA, address whitelisting, and YubiKey support for withdrawals. The exchange is certified under ISO 27001, 27701, PCI:DSS, and SOC 2, with a $1B insurance pool — one of the highest in the industry.

What real-world advantages does the Crypto.com Visa card offer?

Answer: In 2025, Crypto.com’s Visa card remains one of the most rewarding. Cashback ranges from 1% to 5% (up to 6% in parts of Asia) in CRO, with no annual fee. Free Spotify and Netflix benefits continue for Royal Indigo and above. The card works in Europe, the U.K., the U.S., Singapore, and Australia, and can be topped up instantly via the app.

Are there limitations for users in Europe?

Answer: Most European countries have full access, including trading, Earn, and the Visa card. However, in some EU jurisdictions (e.g., Estonia, Hungary, Bulgaria) products like Earn and Crypto Credit can be restricted by local regulation. Since 2024, the Visa card in Europe is issued via a licensed Lithuanian EMI, ensuring MiCA compliance.

How did Earn rates change in 2026?

Answer: Crypto Earn has been updated. Yields now typically range from 3% to 6% APY depending on the asset and whether you stake CRO. Stablecoins (USDT, USDC) are around 4–5%, CRO up to ~6%. Rates are refreshed quarterly and shown in-app.

Can I use Crypto.com without the CRO token?

Answer: Yes, but certain benefits (fee discounts, higher Earn yields, and top-tier card cashback) require CRO staking. Without CRO, core functions remain available — trading, storage, transfers, and the NFT marketplace.

Does Crypto.com support DeFi and new blockchains?

Answer: Yes. In 2026, the DeFi Wallet supports Ethereum, Polygon, Cronos, Arbitrum, and Base. The next-generation Cronos ZK network uses zero-knowledge proofs for faster, more private DeFi. Users can provide liquidity, stake tokens, and connect MetaMask.

The app looks nice, but support is slow and I’ve had withdrawals held up for random checks. Fees aren’t the lowest either. It’s fine if you want the perks of the card, but I wouldn’t rely on it as my main exchange.

I’ve been using this platform mainly for the Visa card and cashback, and it’s been great. The app is smooth, staking works well, and it feels convenient to manage both crypto and spending in one place. Overall, a solid all-in-one option.

Extremely high fees: 20% for Bitcoin withdrawals

The minimum Bitcoin withdrawal at Crypto.com is approximately 0.0008, and for a withdrawal of 0.00208987 Bitcoins, the fee is 0.0004, exactly 20%. The Bitcoin price on May 7, 2025, is €34.50. This is an absolute rip-off and a disgrace! Not recommended!

I’ve been with Crypto.com for about a year, mostly because I wanted their Visa card for cashback. The app is smooth and staking is easy, but I’ve had to deal with slow customer support and occasional withdrawal checks that held up my funds. The fees are fair, and I like the range of features, but I’d warn people to be patient if they ever need help from support. Good choice if you want everything — trading, earning, and spending — in one app.

Been on Crypto.com since 2021. Love the Visa card and cashback perks. The app’s dead easy to use, staking is cool, but support can be super slow. Sometimes they freeze withdrawals for random checks, which is annoying. Not bad for holding and spending, but wouldn’t use for day trading.
