What is Trust Wallet?

Trust Wallet is a typical hot wallet designed primarily for the Ethereum ecosystem, though it also supports other major chains. It is available as a mobile app only (iOS and Android); there is no browser extension. Beyond storing cryptocurrencies, the app also supports non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

Software

Trust Wallet is fully decentralized: only you control access to your funds. The app lets you store and send both cryptocurrencies and NFTs.

Fees

Free — Using the app itself is free. You only pay network fees when making transactions. These are chain-specific and cannot be avoided.

Supported Assets

4,500+ coins and tokens — According to the developer, the multichain wallet supports all major blockchains and works with ERC-20, BEP-2, and ERC-721 tokens. Bitcoin (BTC) is supported as well.

Security

  • PIN
  • Fingerprint unlock
  • 12-word seed phrase

The app uses a multi-layer security model. You can set a PIN and require fingerprint unlock. On first use, you generate a 12-word seed phrase. If written down and stored safely, it lets you regain access even if your device is lost or damaged.

Note: A hot wallet is only as secure as the device it runs on. For small amounts and funds you need frequent access to, hot wallets are convenient. If you want extra security, consider a cold wallet.

Support

German & English — You can reach support via the official contact portal: support.trustwallet.com.

Ease of Use

The app is easy to find in the app stores, quick to set up, and intuitive to navigate. Right after installation, you can create a new wallet with a seed phrase or import an existing wallet via seed. No identity verification is required and no personal data needs to be submitted. With basic tech familiarity and proper seed storage, it’s hard to go wrong.

Core actions like staking, DeFi, and sending/receiving crypto are available via simple swipes. Through the third-party provider MoonPay, you can purchase cryptocurrencies directly in the app. Overall, it’s a solid, no-nonsense mobile wallet.

Features

  • Mobile App (iOS & Android)
  • DeFi access
  • Lending
  • Staking
  • Hot Wallet
  • Built-in Trust DApp Browser for interacting with dApps
  • Buy crypto via MoonPay (third-party)
  • NFT storage and transfers

What I find particularly great about this wallet is that you can create both a real BTC address and any other normal address. Additionally, it's easy to connect to Dapps and the browser, and there's even the option to save your key phrase to iCloud if you need to act quickly (not recommended). Basically, I was looking for a wallet that would allow me to interact with all chains and in any form and store tokens, and it works great with both the mobile app and the Chrome extension! I haven't had any issues yet, which is why I gave it 5 stars for customer support.

@What Glad to hear that! I’ve been using it for a few months too, and I totally agree — the multi-chain support is super convenient. The iCloud backup option freaked me out a bit at first, but as long as you skip it, it’s solid. I mainly use the Chrome extension, and it’s been smooth so far. Definitely feels like one of the more polished wallets out there right now.

It’s okay, but sometimes the app freezes and swaps don’t always go through. Support takes ages to respond, so I wouldn’t keep big amounts here.

Super simple wallet, great for holding a mix of coins. I like that it supports so many tokens and has a built-in swap feature. Perfect for quick use on mobile.

Not sure why anyone would need this — just doesn’t appeal to me.

This wallet is like a Swiss Army knife. What I love most is that you can create both a true BTC address and all the other standard addresses you need. On top of that, it’s easy to connect to DApps and the browser, and there’s even the option to store your key phrase in iCloud for quick access (not recommended, but handy in a pinch). I was specifically looking for a wallet that would let me interact with all chains in any form and store tokens — and this one works perfectly, both in the mobile app and the Chrome extension. I’ve never had any issues, so I’m giving 5 stars for customer support as well.

Yeah, I’ve been using Trust Wallet for a while too, and it’s super convenient for everyday transfers. I like that it supports almost every token out there and connects easily to dApps. The only thing I’ve noticed is that WalletConnect can bug out sometimes, but restarting the app usually fixes it. Overall, it’s still one of the most reliable mobile wallets I’ve used.
