Key facts

Clients: 650,000+ active

XTB is one of the largest and most reputable CFD brokers in the market. Besides CFDs, it offers real stock and ETF investing, making it suitable for both traders and long-term investors. Note, however, that stock and ETF trading is unavailable through XTB Ltd (Cyprus).

The broker delivers a smooth, user-friendly service with fast account opening, simple deposits and withdrawals, and a modern trading platform. Investors should note the inactivity fee that applies after one year, and the absence of certain popular instruments such as options.

Risk warning: CFDs are complex instruments with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. 76% of retail accounts lose money when trading CFDs with this provider.

Pros

  • Wide choice of CFDs on stocks, ETFs, forex, commodities, and indices
  • Fast, fully digital account opening
  • Multiple deposit and withdrawal methods
  • Interest paid on unused balances

Cons

  • Inactivity fee after 12 months
  • High currency conversion charges

Fees and Trading Costs

XTB features low trading and non-trading fees. Withdrawals are often free, and real stocks and ETFs can be traded without commission up to €100,000 per month. Interest is paid on uninvested funds, while inactivity is charged after one year.

All Forex and index CFD fees are included in the spread — for example, EUR/USD ≈ 0.9 pips and S&P 500 CFD ≈ 0.5 points. Real stock and ETF investing is available for UK, EU, and Belize clients, but not for Cyprus-based accounts.

Deposits and Withdrawals

Transactions are quick and mostly free. Supported payment methods include bank cards, wire transfers, PayPal, and Skrill. There are no account or withdrawal fees, and the inactivity fee is €10 per month after 12 months without trading.

Account Opening

The onboarding process is simple, fast, and fully digital — your trading account can be activated the same day. No minimum deposit is required for EU accounts.

Platforms

XTB’s proprietary xStation 5 platform is available on desktop, web, and mobile. It features intuitive charts, watchlists, price alerts, and strong analytical tools. The design is clean and modern, with full support for mobile trading via xStation Mobile.

Product Range

XTB provides access to over 10,000 instruments, including forex, indices, commodities, stocks, ETFs, and cryptocurrencies. Real stocks and ETFs are supported, while bonds, options, and mutual funds are not offered.

Interest on Idle Funds

Clients earn daily interest on unused balances: 4.5% on GBP, 1.0% on EUR, and 2.0% on USD. Interest is paid monthly, with no limits or requirements.

Investment Plans

XTB’s Investment Plans allow building diversified ETF portfolios tailored to risk tolerance and regional focus. The platform automatically allocates capital by chosen distribution. These features are not available under XTB Ltd (Cyprus).

Safety and Regulation

XTB is a regulated, publicly listed broker supervised by several authorities, including the FCA (UK). The company ensures negative balance protection and segregated client funds. It does not hold a banking license.

Conclusion

XTB stands out for its transparency, regulation, and advanced trading platform. It fits both new and experienced traders who value reliability, low fees, and direct access to global markets. While it lacks certain instruments and applies an inactivity fee, its strong reputation, real stock access, and consistent execution make it a trusted European broker.

XTB is fine overall, but the platform can lag a bit during high volatility. Some instruments also have noticeably higher spreads after hours. Support is helpful but not always fast. It’s a reliable broker, just not the cheapest one if you trade frequently.

@Ryan Yeah, that sounds pretty accurate. I’ve used XTB on and off, and while the broker itself is solid, the platform definitely struggles when the market gets wild. I also noticed those wider spreads outside regular trading hours — not a deal breaker, but something you feel if you trade often. Support has always been polite with me, but you’re right, the response time isn’t the fastest. Overall it’s a safe, well-regulated broker, but if someone trades actively every day, especially intraday, the costs can add up pretty quickly.

I’ve been trading with XTB for almost a year now, and I’m impressed with their xStation platform — it’s fast, intuitive, and packed with useful tools. Spreads are tight, withdrawals are quick, and customer support is actually responsive, which is rare these days. It’s a solid choice for both beginners and experienced traders.
