Following talks between US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing — attended by the CEOs of leading American companies including Boeing's Kelly Ortberg and General Electric's Larry Culp — a preliminary agreement was reached for China to purchase 200 Boeing aircraft equipped with GE engines. According to Trump, the deal covers an initial order of 200 planes across the 777 and 737 models, with a potential expansion to 750 aircraft if deliveries are completed on schedule. The contract remains preliminary at this stage, but if finalized it would become the largest deal in the company's history.

The company's second-quarter financial report is due on July 29. Revenue is expected to increase from $22.20 billion to $23.98 billion — significantly above the $22.75 billion recorded in the same period last year — while the loss per share is forecast to narrow from –$0.200 to –$0.256, compared to –$1.24 a year ago. The last dividend payment was made in 2020, and losses sustained over more than four years had been the primary obstacle to resumption through the first quarter. Given the negative outlook for the current year, this situation is unlikely to change in the near term.
