The initial site delivers 425 kW of power and a hash rate of 32 PH/s, utilizing 120 Bitmain S21 270TH ASIC miners. The infrastructure features advanced racking, engineered for optimal airflow and thermal regulation, ensuring peak efficiency even in remote conditions.

To monitor operations and ESG compliance, the project leverages BlueFlare OS for telemetry and BlueFlare Carbon Cube for emissions tracking. This ensures both performance transparency and adherence to sustainability criteria—a growing priority for institutional crypto investors.

The uniqueness of this venture lies in its use of “stranded gas”—natural gas reserves that are too remote, impure, or otherwise difficult to monetize through conventional means. By converting this resource directly into computing power and Bitcoin mining, AGRIForce taps into an otherwise wasted energy stream.

Looking ahead, the partners plan to ramp up power to 625 kW at the Berwyn site. Additionally, two more mining facilities are in development—one in Oyen and another in Hinton, Alberta. AGRIForce has secured rights to acquire and deploy two additional gas-powered installations, potentially scaling up to 1.3 MW each. This expansion is projected to push aggregate hash rate to 1 EH/s by Q1 2026.

As of June 17, 2025, AGRIForce has mined 7 BTC at the Berwyn facility. The company’s treasury policy allocates 50% of mined Bitcoin to reserves, with the remaining portion reinvested into mining infrastructure and direct BTC acquisitions—reinforcing a hybrid growth and asset accumulation strategy.

AGRIForce is a publicly traded company on Nasdaq. According to Yahoo Finance, its share price rose 1.85% in response to news of the farm's launch.

“We’re not waiting for grid approvals or infrastructure upgrades—we turn gas into computation in weeks, not years. This LOI with BlueFlare Energy accelerates our Alberta roadmap and puts us on track to achieve 1 EH/s by Q1 2026,” commented AGRIForce CEO Jolie Kan.

This isn’t the industry’s first foray into alternative energy sources for crypto mining. Earlier, Marathon Digital (MARA) piloted a mining center powered by methane.
