Gate Layer is built on OP Stack, fully EVM-compatible, and uses GateChain as its settlement layer, with GT staking integrated into its consensus model.
It's time to go "All in Web3"! Launching our own Layer 2 - Gate Layer.

Among the core advantages of Gate Layer, the team highlights:
- High throughput: over 5,700 TPS with a block time of just 1 second;
- Ultra-low fees: processing 1M transactions costs under $30 (vs. $700 on Base and $2,000 on BNB Chain);
- Seamless cross-chain functionality enabled by LayerZero integration.
The ecosystem will initially include three flagship products: a decentralized perpetuals DEX (Perp), a meme-coin creation hub (Gate Fun), and the Meme Go tracking tool.
GT Tokenomics Update and GateChain Upgrade
Within Gate Layer, GT will serve as the native gas token. Its deflationary model remains unchanged, with quarterly burns continuing. By the end of Q2, Gate.io had already removed 180.5M GT from circulation—around 60% of the total initial supply.
In parallel, GateChain underwent a major upgrade. The update implemented EIP-4844, adding BLOB transaction support to enhance scalability, and upgraded its EVM to the Cancun release.
“Gate Layer’s launch, the ongoing expansion of GateChain, and the GT tokenomics upgrade mark a strategic milestone in our mission to build efficient, affordable, and scalable Web3 infrastructure,” the exchange noted.
Market reaction was muted, with GT slipping around 1% in the last 24 hours. At the time of writing, the token trades near $16.
