MSBT is betting on low fees

From the very beginning, the bank is pursuing an aggressive pricing strategy. The annual management fee will be 0.14%, which is significantly lower than that of many competitors. For comparison, market leader BlackRock currently charges around 0.25% per year for the iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT). This model is designed to quickly gain market share through lower costs and direct integration into the bank’s own wealth management system.

16,000 advisors as a large-scale distribution channel

MSBT’s main advantage lies in Morgan Stanley’s internal infrastructure. Its network of 16,000 financial advisors manages client assets worth trillions of dollars. Until now, crypto ETFs on the bank’s platform had been distributed more cautiously or through external managers. With its own in-house product, advisors will now be able to offer clients Bitcoin allocations directly and at lower cost.
