Users can now create a new wallet or log into an existing one through these services. During registration, a password is set, and the seed phrase is automatically generated. It can later be restored using Web2 credentials.

The update is designed to make wallet management easier while keeping security intact. According to the team, even MetaMask itself has no access to the data required to retrieve the seed phrase — only the linked social account and the password on the user’s device can unlock it.
The developers stressed that password protection remains crucial, since lost credentials cannot be restored.
Technical documentation notes that the generated seed phrase is stored securely and tied to the user’s Google or Apple login along with their chosen password.

The system relies on a cryptographic method known as the Threshold Oblivious Pseudorandom Function, combined with a distributed key management protocol, to provide secure access.
