On July 29, financial services company Robinhood released its results for the second quarter of 2026, reporting the highest quarterly revenue and profit in its history. Prediction markets emerged as one of Robinhood’s main new growth drivers during the quarter. Event contracts generated $156 million in revenue, more than ten times the amount recorded a year earlier and higher than revenue from equities at $129 million and cryptocurrencies at $100 million. Options remained Robinhood’s largest source of transaction-based revenue, bringing in $342 million, up 29% year over year.

Total net revenues increased 32% year-over-year to $1.31 billion.

Robinhood Chief Financial Officer Shiv Verma said the company reached record trading volumes across equities, options and event contracts during the second quarter, highlighting its continued progress in gaining market share.

“Business is firing on all cylinders,” Verma said, pointing to record revenue and new highs across several of the company’s core trading categories.

In contrast to the rapid growth of prediction markets, cryptocurrency transaction revenue fell 38% year over year, declining from $160 million to $100 million. Crypto notional trading volume also dropped from $66 billion in the first quarter to $40 billion in the second quarter.

Of the $40 billion total, trading through the Robinhood app accounted for $18 billion, down 35% year over year. The remaining $22 billion came from Bitstamp, the cryptocurrency exchange whose acquisition Robinhood completed on June 2, 2025.

Despite the slowdown in crypto trading, Robinhood continues to expand Robinhood Chain, its proprietary Ethereum layer-2 network designed to provide infrastructure for tokenized real-world assets. The network has shown strong early growth since the launch of its public mainnet, with much of its initial trading activity driven by a wave of memecoins. This momentum was already visible as Robinhood Chain gained traction amid a new memecoin frenzy led by CASHCAT.

According to on-chain data available at the time of writing, Robinhood Chain has processed more than $12 billion in cumulative decentralized exchange volume since its launch. It has also surpassed 150 million transactions and recorded more than $645 million in total value locked.

Alongside Robinhood Chain, the company highlighted two other strategic products: Rothera and Agentic Trading. Rothera is a CFTC-licensed exchange and clearinghouse focused on event contracts. It is independently managed through a joint venture between Robinhood and Susquehanna International Group and has processed more than 3.5 billion contracts since it began operating.

Agentic Trading allows customers to open dedicated accounts through which AI-powered agents can execute trades in equities, options and cryptocurrencies on their behalf. Since its launch in May, nearly 100,000 customers have opened Agentic Trading accounts, holding more than $100 million in assets under custody.

Following the earnings release, HOOD shares declined in after-hours trading. According to a Google Finance screenshot taken at 11:30 a.m. on July 30, 2026, the stock was trading at $86.89.

Despite the market’s initial reaction, Robinhood’s second-quarter results show that the company is gradually evolving from a traditional retail brokerage platform into a broader financial ecosystem. Prediction markets, tokenized assets, AI-powered trading and Robinhood’s proprietary blockchain are increasingly emerging as the company’s next major growth engines.
